About Jasmine Chenell (@Jasmine.Chenell)
Creative Director, Jasmine Chenell is a ready-to-wear Womenswear designer based in Connecticut, US. Inspired by her travels and the world around her, she uses an array of textures and colours combined with exclusive prints, appealing to both the conceptual and minimal aesthetics.
“Psalms 32:8” : the AW19 collection
Inspired through the development of a colour story, illustrating transformative emotions of desolation and despair whilst being guided into the light of hope and liberation, Jasmine Chenell’s AW19 Collection revolves around finding the light within darkness. Liquid metallic copper mesh is mirrored through intricate metallic copper embroidery bringing a freshness and texture to the collection. Cotton herringbone and stretch double-faced suiting sit back to silk satin organza whilst the designer’s bespoke digital prints bring colour and light to the collection.
Since 2009, the OFS team has delivered 100+ runway shows across all fashion capitals showing 600+ designers from over 70 countries.
“We began Oxford Fashion Studio with a love of supporting independent design talent. Going all out for individuals we believe in; for the good of independence, originality and integrity. Nine years on we are responsible for continuing to strengthen over 639 independent, quality designers, ranging from over 70 countries, to give them a platform in the four fashion capitals during fashion week. The talent we scout have often been undiscovered in the fashion capitals and we’re incredibly proud to be the ones to bring them to the front line of the industry.”
