J JS Lee AW17

London Fashion Week is not all about the big names that have been well known worldwide for decades,  it’s also even more a platform for relatively newer and emerging designers. One of those is Jackie Lee.

We loved the J J S Lee catwalk show AW 2017  by Jackie Lee presented at this year’s edition of LFW.

The Seoul born young lady came to London in 2007 to get a post graduate pattern course at Central Saint Martin.  In March 2010 she was already launching her own label J J S Lee.

J J S Lee was inspired, for this season, by children’s dressing up games, their playing with grown-up wardrobes, and their desire to explore identity through these kind of games; hence the over-sized proportions in her AW 2017 collection.

Her collection is feminine and elegant, with a very modern twist that makes it quite unique.

Flared and pencil skirts; wide, full length, and cropped trousers.  Over-sized and relaxed knitwear with flared sleeves.  With big bundles of scarves tied around the neck.

A soft palette of charcoal, camel, black, white with highlights of rose and ice cream pastels like the lovely pistachio, contrasted with the intense, eye-catching cobalt blue.

Tailored pieces with an androgynous-chic touch to define a contemporary womanly way of being.

Certainly, a pleasure to watch.
