The North Face® Brings Urban Lifestyle Drop To New Soho Store

Professor Green, Faye Williams, Arnold Oceng and a host of urban influencers rock up to launch of new lifestyle store opening for heritage brand

London – 31 March 2017: The North Face® threw open the doors of the new Carnaby Street store last night, welcoming an array of London names and faces to the brand’s first dedicated Urban Exploration space.

Guests got a first look at the exclusive Japanese designed capsule collection, which draws its inspiration from original, heritage pieces from The North Face®, some of which were also on display for the evening. In keeping with the throwback vibe, bikers took care of the door security in a nod to the original Cali store set-up back in 1966. Hop House 13 and Gordon’s Gin kept the drinks flowing, guests were treated to a Himalayan and Mexican tasting menu and the evening was topped off with an acoustic set in store from singer-songwriter Raye who got Wilkinson, Pro Green, Faye Williams, Will Best and Michael Fox moving to her tunes.

The store opens to the public today at 8 Carnaby Street, Soho. There will be a host of exclusive drops into next season, with limited edition pieces and famed brand collaborations, showcased in the new store.

About the Japanese Capsule Collection at the Carnaby Street store:

Born in the mountains and reimagined for an urban audience, the collection incorporates sleek silhouettes, a discreet colour line, and iconic detailing. Each piece in the new Japanese-designed capsule collection seamlessly weaves together contemporary style with elements and fabrics from the original, heritage pieces made famous by The North Face®, to create apparel for the modern urban explorer. The Mountain Murdo – synonymous with original classic, McMurdo expedition jacket from The North Face® – has been transformed into a jacket for today’s urban audience, taking the heritage pocket and patch detailing from the original design onto a lightweight GORE-TEX®  jacket and similar Moto Pants.

The store will also carry the main Urban Exploration lifestyle product line for both men and women, including renowned iconic pieces – the men’s Mountain Murdo Light Parka and Women’s Cagoule Light Parka for SS17 and the sought-after Nuptse jacket line for AW17.
